Getting into the food business is more than just cooking good food. It's about organizing and accounting and talking to the right people. Join us at the Commissary for a panel sharing the details of starting a food business: registration, accounting, licensing, inspections, taxes, and more.

The panel is headed up by Kate Djupe and Nicholas Dekker. Kate Djupe has managed to play with food as a career for most of her life. Recently, she has shifted into helping others do the same at The Commissary, a maker space for food and drink that has been open for six whole months. Nicholas Dekker leads the on-boarding sessions at The Commissary. He is a freelance food and travel writer, leads culinary tours, and authors the blog Breakfast With Nick. Kate and Nick will be joined by various experts representing the city of Columbus, Franklin County, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture, as well as experts in law and accounting.
